The Scoop

After reviewing and testing dozens of different heating pads for kombucha, we finally selected a winner! This kombucha heating pad provides even heat distribution with its intricate pattern of fine wire throughout its waterproof, fray proof mat.

The mat comes to us via Hydro Farms and was initially intended for plant seedlings to increase rooting times. Pretty cool huh? So if you have a green thumb you can pick up a few for your seedlings (just don't put your seedlings or any other plants near your kombucha as this can cause mold on your culture).

The mat consistently warms your kombucha tea inside your brewing container 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit over ambient temperature. It will not shut off like typical heating pads you find at your local store, (HURRAY!).

The heating pad can be used with any of our continuous brewers. Each mat measures 10 inches by 20 inches and is UL listed at 17 Watts.

Ideally, kombucha should be brewed at a temperature of 75 degrees and above. During Winter, especially in cold areas it is recommend to leave the pad on constantly. During warmer locations or seasons, try cycling with having the heat on during night time when the temperature gets cooler. This can be achieved automatically with a cheap light lamp timer.

It is highly recommended to test the temperature of your kombucha tea after about 8 hours of having the heating mat on. To test, simply draw a little of you tea out of your container and test in a cup using a thermometer. Never use the thermometer directly inside your kombucha brewing container! -The mat consistently warms your kombucha tea inside your brewing container 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit over ambient temperature.
