Kombucha Tea Concentrate

We have had a bunch of questions regarding our Kombucha Concentrate . We gathered them up and here are the answers to the Top Five.

1. HOW LONG DOES THE CONCENTRATE LAST? Our kombucha concentrate has about a 6 month shelf life.

2. DO I NEED TO REFRIDGERATE THE KOMBUCHA? No, however once opened, it is recommended. As we have discussed in the mini course, kombucha has many qualities as vinegar. Our concentrate is already fermented over an extensive period; refrigeration will ensure that it is kept at the correct concentration level.

3. WHAT OTHER USES DOES THE CONCENTRATE OFFER? These are our favorites: As a Marinade, try 2 oz of kombucha concentrate, with 1 oz of olive oil, and a 1/4 teaspoon of the following: black pepper, red pepper, garlic powder, and ginger. Salt AFTER you marinade, why? it will be absorbed if marinade, however if you sprinkle salt right before you taste your food it will be on top of your food which will give your taste buds the impression you use a lot more (cool, huh?). The other use is topical, apply to cuts, scrapes, and athlete's feet... oh yeah and poison ivy... thanks Linda!

4. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TAKE THE CONCENTRATE? You know your body best; however here is my suggested schedule when first starting out. Please tailor to your specifications. Week 1: 1/2 ounce mixed with 2 ounces of cranberry juice and 2 ounces of club soda, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (note: if this upsets your stomach, take with food). Have at least 16 ounces of water within the next hour. Week 2: Increase to 1 ounce or to taste, and take an additional 1/2 ounce in the afternoon with your favorite iced tea, again having at least 16 ounces of water within the hour.
