Included with your brewers are PH Testing Strips. Use this chart color chart to determine the PH level of your
kombucha tea. Hint: You can click to enlarge the picture!
On the 6th day, pour a little
kombucha teainto a glass using the dispenser. Dip a testing strip into the
kombucha tea for about 30 seconds. Match the color of your testing strip to the color on the chart. Notice the 2 charts, select the chart based on the type of ph strip you received.
The lower the number the more acidic the
kombucha is. Ideally, you want a ph of around 2.9.
HOWEVER: When
kombucha enters your body it actually becomes alkalizing when digested. I like to test PH levels before and after bottling my tea to determine how long I should leave my tea bottled.
Experiment, have fun, but don't forget about the best testing strip of all... ourselves!
